Who’s joining the Beverly Hills Housewives?

See which actor is rubbing shoulders with the ladies of 90210 in season 9 of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills on hayu

Lies, heartbreak and betrayal. That’s right, The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills is back – and the drama shows no signs of letting up

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, season 9 available on hayu (CH 210) + the hayu app

Stop the presses! Actress Denise Richards has been welcomed into the Real Housewives fold! She joins Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Lisa Vanderpump and Camille Grammer for season 9 of the reality TV sensation.

The trailer has already set expectations higher than the cast’s combined net worth, promising a “crazy, epic, unbelievable, shocking” new season. And with two weddings on the cards – one of which is Denise’s own to actor Aaron Phypers – plus private islands, luxury watches, swans, firefighters and some seriously crazy Halloween outfits, we’re pretty sure it’s going to exceed them!

Denise has gone down a hit with the inner circle. And she’s not short on praise for her fellow cast members. “They’re a strong group of women with strong opinions, and I love and respect that,” she said. “At the end of the day, no matter what goes on between them, they’re there for each other and support each other, and I think that is really wonderful.” Hmm, considering the show is infamous for its catfights, let’s just see how long that opinion holds. Here’s hoping everyone lives happily Beverly after.

Before immersing yourself in the champagne lifestyle of the belles of Beverly Hills, read on for a snapshot of some of Denise’s most memorable roles.

The World Is Not Enough

Denise Richards and Pierce Brosnan in The World Is Not Enough

Denise plays nuclear weapons expert Dr Christmas Jones alongside Pierce Brosnan’s Bond. “And don’t make any jokes. I’ve heard them all,” she says early on. Right you are then. But because this is a Bond movie, James can’t resist dropping a cheesy one-liner, saying, “I’ve always wanted to have Christmas in Turkey” as fireworks explode in the background. In Turkey… Movie magic.

Wild Things

Arguably one of Denise’s most well-known roles, 1998’s Wild Things gained notoriety on release for its steamy scenes. The plot centres on a scandal surrounding her character, Kelly Van Ryan and her guidance counsellor Sam (Matt Dillon, The Outsiders). When a second victim, Suzie (Neve Campbell, House Of Cards), speaks out, it’s up to detective Ray Duquette (Kevin Bacon) to get to the bottom of the allegations.

Love Actually

Denise Richards in Love Actually

We know what you’re thinking: Denise Richards isn’t in Love Actually! Oh yes, she is. Towards the end of the film, when Colin (Kris Marshall, Death In Paradise) returns to the UK from across the pond, he’s accompanied by Harriet (Shannon Elizabeth, American Pie) and her “real friendly” sister Carla, aka Denise! Don’t believe us? Consider this your excuse to rewatch Love Actually… again.

Scary Movie 3

Denise’s apperance as Annie Logan is cut brutally (but kind of hilariously) short in this spoof slasher movie. Oh well. Getting killed off in horror movies, even in parodies of horror movies, is kind of par for the course. Look out for Logan’s husband Tom, played by Denise’s real-life ex husband Charlie Sheen.

Denise Richards: It’s Complicated

Denise is no stranger to reality TV. Over two seasons, this intimate show shone a spotlight on her life following her divorce from Charlie Sheen. Their children, Sam and Lola, also appear, alongside Denise’s sister Michelle and father Irv.
